Nikon AF Nikkor 18mm f/2.8D Assessment & Samples (6070) My Nikkor 18/2.8 served me well on the crop body D1x. It is tiny, light. Thought of the Canon EOS 50D Digital Camera (2470) While most people is expecting the next FF body from Canon as replacement to Canon EOS 5D FF digital camera, I would consider the Canon EOS 50D is a necessary move as response to Nikon's recent hot cakes. Now, the new 50D looks like a replacement of the 5D except it is not with a FF sensor. Canon EOS 450D - Is It Worth the Upgrade? (2499) Due the requirement for live view Manual focusing on a Telescope I ended up purchasing both cameras. From the testing that I have done (Ignoring the **tiny** difference in megapixels - With my lenses, it needs to be primes carefully used to really show off this difference), both cameras deliver more or less the same image quality with a given lens. Canon EOS 1Ds Mark III - Field Test Run (2077) I just got back from 1 month of hiking in the Alps with the Eos 1Ds Mark III and a 40 D as a backup. I used to use a 1Ds Mark II and a 1D Mark II, but the 1Ds Mark II was stolen (it was insured) and I didn't want to lug the extra weight of a separate Mark II body without the compatibility of battery systems. Canon EF 24mm f/2.8 & EF 50mm f/1.4 - Light & Compact Combos for Quick Snap (5750) You may be curious that why I acquired a 24/2.8 prime lens while I already have the 24-105/4 and 16-35 II both cover the 24mm focal length. That is because 24/2.8 is a tiny and good performer at a focal length most important to my style, particularly for quick snap in events. Canon EOS 5D & EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM - Dynamic Ultra Wide Photography (4151) I need some wider and higher speed lenses, enablers for spectacular and creativities in landscape/ low light works. I have considered 14/2.8 II, 24/1.4 and 17-40/4. I finally go with a 16-35/2.8 II lens instead of primes and the 17-40/4 after some careful inspection and refined requirement.
