Photos-of-the-Year.com - Digital Photography Contest - I joined photos-of-the-year a few months ago and am now addicted. If you love photography I recommend this excellent user friendly site. Photographers submit photos from all over the world from novice, amateur and more professional and the site is free. Making it a fun and inspiring site for EVERYONE! Photography is enhanced by advice and encouragement from a wide range of photographers, the encouragement I have received has prompted me to recently upgrade to a digital SLR. POTY is no.1 in my favorites. Many thanks to GoldenHammer the webmaster for this excellent site and learning curve. Best wishes.

Photos-of-the-Year - As a beginner to digital photography I joined POTY. I received advice on how to improve my pictures, gentle critique, encouragement. As I got more confident it also gave me a chance to enter my photos into competitions, to see them in a gallery among the other images. It wasn't just the photography, there was also the editing advice, what settings on the camera work the best ... all the stuff that can be so frustrating when you're starting out.

POTY is an awesome, friendly community, a place to come share your latest pics, to compete against some great photographers, to talk 'photo'. And for me, POTY helped me to take the beginning steps in a hobby I love, made those first steps easy, exciting, and fun.

Cross section of the world - POTY provides an excellent virtual cross-roads for photographers and artists to view a significant variety of skills and images from around the world. The overall quality of the content, along with the easy navigation and clear presentation of the site make this one of the premier photo / art sites on the web today. Don't miss the opportunity to spend time going around the globe.

The perfect place for photographer - Well, if you want the perfect place for photographers look no further than Photos-Of-The-Year (http://www.photos-of-the-year.com).This website is the perfect place to post images, have them commented on by your peers and even enter challenge contests. The quality of images runs the whole gamut from snapshots to professional images. Therefore no matter what skill level you are you will find a home here. Unlike certain sites that have strict quality requirements to be able to post. The members are all very friendly and will offer good advice on ways to improve your photography. The webmaster, GoldenHammer has made some great additions to the site in the past few months and he is always open to feedback and suggestions. Try getting your ideas implemented on other sites!!! A sign of a good site is how often you wish to visit. It is pretty much the first thing I do everyday. I cannot recommend this site highly enough.

Photos-of-the-year an invaluable resource/ contest site - Hi , I recently took up photography again with the advent of high quality SLR like digital cameras. I was introduced to photos-of-the-year.com by my neighbor who at the time was taking breathtaking shots on her fuji s304. She showed me this site where her photographs were entered in monthly competitions in various categories, the people there encouraged her and gave excellent constructive criticism which helped her photography come on in leaps and bounds. By this time my interest had definitely been aroused, as I owned old slr cameras when I was a kid, but processing costs stopped a lot of experimentation. Anyway i was really getting hooked on the idea now as my neighbor got a 300d/rebel for her birthday and lent me the fuji, I really decided I needed a camera then and after much research got a fuji s602z pro which seemed to offer all the facilities I needed. Now I am taking pictures and trying to improve and have recently joined photos-of -the-year.com myself and entered my first pic. I cant wait for the voting to start so I can learn more from peoples comments, and I also get a lot of fun voting on other peoples photos. This site is very enjoyable and I think anyone can learn a lot from taking an active role in it. I would recommend it to all, beginners and seasoned photographers alike.

Big thanks to GoldenHammer the man behind the original concept, and all those who help to make the site a success.

Great Place to Learn and Share your Photography - Words can't express how I really feel about this fantastic website. I was just a beginner searching for a place to be able to share my photography and to learn from my mistakes so I could better my photography skills. I found this place and joined in July 2003 and since then have learned so much. It is a great place for Professionals, beginners and everyone else in between, and its free. There are several categories for sharing photos - Photo-of-the-Month, Critiquing Gallery, Theme Contests, a Lively & helpful Forum, Private Message system and much more. All I can say is visit this site and you won't want to leave. It's a fun place and I feel I have made a lot of friends here who are very helpful.
