Welcome to the site, the first thing to do is register yourself. After the registration, check the information on our photography contest and start enjoy the fun in the site.
How about the membership fee? services charge? contribution?
There is no membership fee, nor any charge required. We are a free photography website that generates fun and value to photographers at all levels. Be an active member and give constructive critiques, enjoy your own time in the site. Also check the membership policy and learn digital photography.

What about the photography contests?
Photography contests will be open for submission and voting at the beginnig and at the end of each month. A contest life cycle will normally take one month, a contest gallery will be open for submission for two weeks and open for public voting in the following two weeks. Up to 3 photos can be submitted to each contest gallery and upto 12 photos can be submitted for each critiquing gallery at any one time. Please refer to Photography Contest for details.
What is a Moderator?
Moderators are responsible for maintaining the orderly function of the site with special attention to those forums and galleries they are directly responsible for or assigned to maintain. Moderators serve this site and most importantly serve you the membership. Please check this thread for more information about the duty of a moderator.

Clear all cookies from your web browser software, logout and login again to the site. If you have installed personal firewall software on your computer, it may affect the login process. Please try login from another computer and also ask your Internet connection provider if they have control that would affect the access to the site.
Some comments are marked rating: **
The rating for voting gallery are hidden, this arrangement ensure the voters will not be affected by ratings from other members.
Some votings are not counted, the rating was put inside the comment ....
Votes from new members will not be counted, new members have to pass a trial period before their votes can be counted in the contest.
Rating scores are adding up, why not averaged?
This is unique in Photos-of-the-Year.com, we believe the best photograph should be accepted by the majority, the sum-up approach reflects both the popularity and quality of the photograph which means it has much more marketing value.
Someone posted a bad comment and unreasonable rating on my photo ....
Try to ask the member via a private message regarding the comment and rating. If you believe that is a tossor or if you keep receiving annoying comment, please report the case to the webmaster, we will take appropriate action.
