Membership Policy Photos-of-the-Year.com - Digital Photography Contest has defined a comprehensive membership ranking system in order to provide the best recognition of members photography achievement and contribution. We believe the arrangement will create a fair, interesting and funny environment for the long-term development of the site. Photos-of-the-Year.com can be a good learning tools and a well recognition site for all photography lovers to advance their photography skills. If you are new to Photos-of-the-Year.com, please take a moment to go through the Membership Registration. Contribution Unit (CU) Contribution Unit is the overall ranking of a members contribution, which is composed of comprehensive performance parameters including: Number of Post Number of Membership Referral Number of Photography Award Submission of News, Review and Technical Paper Photography Strength Fund Donation Photography Strength (PS) Photography Strength is an independent performance indicator to reflect how well a photographers photography is acceptable by the open majority and how well a photographer can make value comment for improving photography. PS is completely determined by the open rating approach that means it is a well-recognized indicator that provides the overall averaged-rating calculated from all rated comments given by other members plus the voted-back of value comments received by a photographer. PS defines a very good environment for photographers to advance and develop their photography skills. It is useful as we can see how it is changing from time to time. Membership Ranking The CU, PS also tell the "characters" of a photographer to all other members. This makes the community even more interesting and fun. The latest membership ranking in CU, PS can be checked at Members List. Getting Advance and Recognition Great photography is always supported by constructive critiquing. We believe the best way for learning and advance is via fair and open competition. Members are invited to join photography contests held in Photos-of-the-Year.com in order to improve their photography skills. Amateur and novice photographers may also share their idea in the Beginners Column and photos in the Critiquing Gallery to receive additional comments from senior photographers with a higher Photography Strength. Photography professional and expertise are also invited to join the open contests to confirm them photography skills and provide constructive critiques that helps both the photographer and the voter himself to develop real value for the photography. Regulation and Privacy Materials in our web site Members are welcome to share photography experience and work in our web site, but we do request all members warrant that they will not post any messages or upload any materials that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violate of any laws. Members can always request to update their personal information or completely remove their information and membership from our site. Spamming Spam is never allowed in our site. Biweekly e-mail would be sent to registered members for status update on photography contents. There are always options provided for members to unsubscribe from these emails. We will not share email addresses when the member has specifically opted to have their email address shared. Sponsor for Photos of the Year (POTY) Contest Sponsors are invited to donate prizes for photography contests held in Photos-of-the-Year.com. We will be glad to provide an agreed arrangement, including notice and reference link to sponsor product information or website, in order to establish a win-win relationship on marketing promotion. Affiliate Webmasters and website owners are invited to include site information and link to Photos-of-the-Year.com.
