Xe847 is a Photoshop plug-in with filter technology that produces digital photos and video that appear as seen through the human eye. It recalculates how a human would see a scene, by simulating lower physiological as well as some higher psychological effects.
When I bought my first digital SLR, a Canon EOS D30, I thought that the quality of my pictures must be better. For very few pictures, it works. The problem is going smaller with my 10D, but also not gone complete with my newest 20D.
But the most pictures had one thing missing, the "wow-effect". They are fine, they are nice, but they doesn't jump in my eyes. Professional photographer will smile and think: he should learn to handle his camera correct. Yes, thats right, but I think, most hobby photographer will the same problems sometimes.
Working hard with contrast/ brightness and color correction and a lot of luck, some few pictures going better. But this result doesn't satisfy my look for perfection. And especially it need too much time. So I spent a lot of hours in the Web and found some articles about correcting colors of pictures. Particularly interesting was an article about a filter software called xe847. They wrote on their website, that the correction algorythmus they use is the human eye's "feeling" to set the color correction. That's sound interesting. So I download the demo and I was more than happy. Here are some samples from my pictures. On the left side, the original pictures, on the right side, the xe847 pictures with standard correction.

Xe847 has 2 versions: a standalone and a pro version. I start with the standalone version that converts very fast complete directories, but some corrections are not good (not all pictures are corrected automatically good), so I change to the pro version (more expensive) as Photoshop Plug-in, where you can "overrule" the settings. Here is the user-interface:
